Dear Friends,

Thank you for your warm welcome to St. Joseph High School.   I am honored to be part of this extraordinary school which has been educating young women from every borough of New York City for more than 100 years.

Teaching has always been my greatest passion because it gives me the opportunity to learn something new every day.  I recently asked my mother about my favorite game as a child.  She said, “You used to make the piano bench into a teacher’s desk, line your dolls up on the couch and teach them.”  So, my fate was sealed early and I set off on an exciting path of education that led me to this wonderful place at this exciting time.

Society requires a strong college preparatory curriculum that prepares young women to lead in this complicated world.  St. Joseph High School offers this and so much more.  State-of-the-art technology, an expanding STEM program, award winning performing arts, and a variety of clubs and activities are only half of the equation.  A faculty that knows how to teach girls and inspires academic success with mutual support and respect is the other half.

To put it simply, girls’ schools teach that there is power and enormous potential in being a girl.”

As we begin this journey together,  I look forward to working with students, faculty and families to enrich the lives of every young woman at St. Joseph High School.

Warm Regards,

Mrs. Caroline Latham
